The case study involves Ellen Zane who was appointed to be the CEO of Tufts-New England Medical Centre (Tufts-NEMC) (Zane, 2006). The facility is a nonprofit community hospital but had been undergoing huge loses. The main work of Zane would be to make it a leading hospital in the region again (McAlearney, 2006). Medical facilities face various challenges which include a large number of employees who cannot be maintained by the hospital. For instance, Tufts had 5000 workers. Hospitals are also competing for patients. Some end up making huge loses when the competition is unfavorable. Another problem is bad debts from patients who are either uninsured or underinsured. An issue of relevance is the high cost in hospitals. The high cost prevents some people accessing healthcare which is against the hospital’s mission.
The organization’s mission is to teach medical students and also prevent diseases that are affecting the community. The values are respect for clients and valuing patients’ dignity so that they can experience the self-worth (Darbi, 2012). The organization’s vision is to provide high-quality care to the patients who visit the hospital. The stakeholders and industry define teaching as imparting knowledge, and the organization aims at giving the understanding in the medical school (Mirvis et al., 2010). Respect is defined as considering the rights and plight of the other people. Tufts-NEMC upholds the rights and dignity of the patients and family.

High-quality care is defined as given the patient the best attention possible. The organization is already doing this led by the CEO.
The organization cannot fulfill all that is in the mission and achieve its vision due to the problems outlined in the case study. For instance, lack of enough money hinders the process of teaching medical students. The mission and vision are related to the case study in various ways (Morphew & Hartley 2006). One the new CEO has started providing personal attention to the patients by visiting them. The visits once per month promote the dignity of the patients. Due to the shortage of finances, the organization is not carrying thus interfering with the teaching process
In conclusion, the case study is useful in analyzing the case of the organization. For Zane, it will be just a matter of time, and the organization will be profitable again. She has proved this elsewhere.
