Juanita Brown is at the age of 48. She is an African American single mother who resides in a rural community with three children, daughter of 13 and a son of 18. Furthermore, in their place, there is a step-daughter who is nine years old and an old mother at 72 years who has been living with diabetes, hypertension and is a breast cancer survivor who is unable to walk and function independently. Her 69-year-old father died of a heart attack five years ago.Mrs. Brown has been a widow for the past two years. She has no other siblings. She has no marketable skills and has not been able to find a job within her community. The known biological factors influencing her to take her life is neurochemical and neurological differences which increase the chances of suicide risk. This makes somebody know how to handle stress. Juanita Brown is impoverished and living in a rural community, her mother is sick, his fathers is death, and she cannot get employed because of this, this is the physical and environmental factors affecting her (Snowden et al.

This is a crisis. Mrs. Juanita Brown is suffering from depression because of the unemployment crisis. Unemployment has caused this, her mother is sick, and she has no siblings. She is the sole bread provider for the family. Mrs. Brown has no marketable skills for her to be employed (Eisler et al. 1973)
What nursing interventions will you employ with this family?
Some of the nursing interventions for this crisis is providing Mrs. Juanita Brown with counseling service and providing her with her a job after being trained on some marketable skills so that she can be able to take care of her sick mother and her children. And also for her to realize that despite all the challenges she has faced it is not the end of life (Kolier 1991). Also providing her and her ailing mother with health insurance for her to access healthcare.
How might your interventions be different if you find that many families in the population are experiencing a similar problem?
My interventions will be different since it will be dealing with the psychological depression which Mrs. Brown is going through. When people are counseled, they will realize themselves and understand that all the challenges people are going through they are never permanent. People in the community will recognize that having social benefits in the society can significantly help people reduce the difficulties which they are going through
