1. It can rightfully be in the argument that, to some great extends; Barack Obama was able to defeat John McCain due to the support that he received from George Bush, the immediate former president who was of the same political party. George Bush has already cultivated a good rapport for himself, in particular through the bipartisan approach in his government; hence people followed his choice of President Obama.
There was a positive impact in the ratings of president bush in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and also on the economy. The only low point was during the 911 attacks, but again, the response to the same was welcome. There was a much positive impact of the policy for attacking terrorists wherever they were before they unleash their terror. In matters of economy, George came up with strategies for stimulating the economy, which received a high rating, (Gold, 83). Effects of race and gender affected the election in the sense that; Barrack was a black American, and there before, there had not been the election of a non-white president.
2. The California’s Proposition 187 and Arizona Senate Bill 1070 had their history in the realization that; illegal aliens would make use of certain services such as healthcare and education, undeservingly. College students in the Borderlands made efforts of imparting the debate regarding immigration by adhering to the rules of verification.
3. The Third Wave Feminism refers to the efforts of harnessing feminist activities and studies that build on the loopholes of the second wave feminism, (Williams & Jasna, 168).

Where there were efforts of embracing one gender in the second wave feminism, the third wave feminism advocates for personal differences and narratives. For example, women could give their justification in engaging in controversial activities such as prostitution. Critical Race Theory refers to the key examination of the society so as to allow for interconnection of the race for harmonious living. An example is whereby; there are efforts of encouraging interracial interactions in organizations and recognition of the same in the political realms.
4. The controversy regarding disputed Florida votes emanated from the realizations that; the outcome of the recounting would make all the difference in the overall winner. These heights followed the closeness in the votes garnered by the candidates in all the areas whereby; there was a close gap between them. There was a delay of up to one month after balloting for the verification of the Florida votes by recounting and recounting. Despite polling fewer votes than his opponent, George would win the election because; it was the results of the Florida voting which would eventually determine the winner. By getting the higher number of votes in Florida than the opponent, George won the elections.
5. The instant reaction to the 9/11 attacks included mourning and commemoration of the victims to show patriotism. There was also the quick organization of rescue efforts to ensure saving of lives. There was the holding of vigils for the victims. There was a huge donation of blood in the efforts of helping the casualties. The political leaders, including the president, Bush, urged for calm and promised to offer support to the depths of their ability, (Young-Ok & William, 271).
Following the attacks, there were efforts from the federal government in ensuring prevention of future attacks. The efforts were the strengthening of the military. There was also launching of the Global War on terrorism by President Bush, following the realizations that; terrorism is a global problem.
