Alterations Cognitive Systems Discussion
Cognition is the higher functioning of the brain cell such as reasoning and memory. Cognitive alterations are when the brain is at its minimal operation experienced especially as one age and in cases where the brain is affected. Cognitive alterations can bring different types of outcomes. Most factors affected by alteration of cognitive processes include the thinking, intelligence, memory, attention, aptitudes, and perception.
Types of outcomes of cognitive alterations
Cognitive alterations result to distracted attention, and there is an accompaniment of division of attention at different variations. In perception, cognitive alterations can lead to hallucinations, lack of sensory awareness and illusions (Karmiloff-Smith, 2018). The memory, on the other hand, is compromised differently though conditions such as Alzheimer disease, hyper amnesia and traumatic automatism among many other disease disorders.
Cognitive alterations in thinking are when an individual is having confused thoughts, thought disorder, punning and delusions. Intelligence cognitive alterations are when an individual experience some mental retardation, autism and a childhood disorder referee to as the Asperger’s syndrome. Alterations on the aptitudes are different in people. Aptitudes occur to people at higher levels or lower levels. In higher levels on is partially absent but when one has higher levels, there is a full absence.

Research facilities or institutions that accept patients with severe alterations arousal
Arousal characterizes disorders of getting unconscious in several altered cases. Brain Injury Responsive Program rehabilitates both adolescents and children suffering from acute and chronic alterations arousal from brain malfunction. The initiative that is responsible for this is found in the Kennedy Krieger Institute in the US. Several institutes also help patients who have alteration arousals. They include the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) base in the US wherein its recent research found that Traumatic Brain Injury was one of the causes disability and even death to many children and adolescents in the US. TBI alters the brain by causing inflammation, different types of bleeding and brain swelling among the children and the adolescents.
