The World’s “Police”
The 20th century proved to be challenging due to the emergence of World Wars all over the globe. Something had to be done, and different nations including the United States of America entered the wars. This encounter proved the United States to have a powerful military base due to its dominance in victory both internationally and domestically. The United States has earned the title of the World’s “Police” and has gained fame across borders. “The American “policing” role has been exercised primarily to protect vulnerable peoples and regions from powerful oppressors or regional chaos, as illustrated by recent events as well as earlier ones” (Hook & Spanier, 2018). This article describes a series of world events as well as foreign policies that the America Military put in place since the 1950s to promote peaceful relations among nations.
When an international crisis happens in any region such as the war between nations, terrorism and natural calamities such as earthquakes, human misery is reported and for this reason, the United States Humanitarian Assistance is vital in minimizing and defending the people against such encounters (Melanson, 2015). Below are some of the international crisis that the United States of America military was involved in that yielded into peace and normalizing the situations.
Israel had to deal with a conflict known as “War of Independence” in part of the 20th century (Hook & Spanier, 2018).

Since its inception, Israel always allied with the America military forces and during the 1960s and 1970s, the union benefited the people. Israel dedicates about a quarter of its GDP to national defense. Since 1978, the nation has been able to come to peace with many enemies like PLO which happened 1994 through the help of the union (Melanson, 2015). Jordan also received funds from US assistance in 1970 amounting to $700. Jordan and Israel were able to sign a peace accord that would see the two nations end hostility against each other since 1994.
An international disaster is a hazardous vice to the affected people, and when it happens, there is a need to restore peace and stability. Following the evidence above, there is no doubt that America military role to protect defenseless people from chaotic regions in many places around the world has been exercised.
