Ethical Law
By employing Amber, Mr. Garbo abused his office because she was obviously not qualified for the job thus making it a case of nepotism (Zgheib 140). It was unfair to anybody who qualified for the position but did not get it because of lack of appropriate connections. He was not concerned about the impact of such a decision on other employees, and ultimately how it influences the organizational delivery. He abused his powers by not creating a platform of engagement where the employees could solve their issues amicably, and it is the reason Amber was confident delegating other people her responsibilities think she was doing them a favor.
Now that she is employed, I would first ensure that she sees the unprofessionalism in her actions in the workplace. I would explain to her how her actions negatively affect other people’s work, and therefore, she has to live up to her responsibilities. Secondly, I would talk with Mr. Garbo to get her responsibilities where she can be more productive in the company based on her qualifications if he intends to keep his business deals with Allen Davis. It would save other employees who often get inconvenienced by her inadequate skills, and it also prevents them from being demoralized because they have to tolerate her misbehaviors for being the company president’s close ally.
One of the negative outcomes of such a questionable ethical decision is the fact that it results in emotional complications in decision-making (Zgheib 142).
Wait! An Ethical Flaw paper is just an example!
For instance, in Amber’s case, she is not productive at all in the workplace because her colleagues perform her tasks since she is not qualified to do them, and neither is she interested in learning how to do them. If Garbo is not ready to lose the potential business opportunities he could get with Allen, he may resort to making the other employees do her work forcefully. The employees will be demoralized, and this reduces productivity in the workplace.
