The animals that stand out for their intelligence
Animal intelligence is called the combination of skills and abilities that they use in their day to day and with which they manage to adapt to their environment. While many would think that chimpanzee is the animal with the greatest logical intelligence due to the great resemblance to man, this is not so. The smartest is octopus! This animal is able to perform tasks that for other animals are practically impossible, such as opening a bottle to access its content. It also has an excellent memory, both in the short and long term and a great capacity when learning new skills.

The octopus and its great logical intelligence. The octopus is within the group of cephalopods along with other animals such as squid or sepias. His intelligence is undoubtedly one of the aspects that most distinguish them. The octopus have a large brain and have been seen doing really incredible activities such as carrying coconut shells such as armor, throwing water jets to remove predators or turns on and off the lights of their aquariums.
There are about 300 species of octopus that usually live in tropical waters from all over the world. They have the ability to change color, throw poison when they are threatened and even lift more weight than their body. One of the most interesting characteristics of this animal is the fact that only one third of its neurons are in your brain.

The rest are in the arms or tentacles, that is to say that each limb acts as if it had a mind. It is estimated that each of the tentacles of the octopus has about 40 million receptors that use in the same way that humans use taste and smell, to palpate and to detect chemicals.
Other animals of great intelligence
- The dolphin. If we should name a highly sociable creature, the dolphin would undoubtedly take first place. These cetaceans usually help each other when they are injured or sick.
- The chimpanzee. Outstanding for its great similarity to man, this animal usually form communities where many of them live and use tools in their day -to -day. They also have a very powerful memory.
- The pig. Another of the animals with the greatest logical intelligence is pig, which has shown to have great capacity when learning new skills. Studies have shown that they have a level of intelligence similar to that of a 3 -year -old boy who makes them smarter than dogs and cats.
As you will notice, animals just like human being are also very intelligent. They have cognitive skills, ability to socialize and adapt to their environment with great ease.
