The scientist Steve Gullans and Futurist Juan Enriquez conduct a thorough tour of how human beings are transforming the series of evolution. For instance, throughout the world, obesity rates in human beings nearly became twice the number between the year 1980 and 2014. Moreover, there’s proof that other animal breeds, from horses fed with pasture to house cats and lab animals, are also getting plump. As stated by United States government bureau, the autism rate increased by 132 percent from 2000 to 2010, an increase which cannot be solely based on the increases in diagnosis rates (Juan 1). 300 years ago, no individual having a severe nut allergy was able to live long enough to be able to reproduce. Nonetheless, today, in spite an environment where the level of food allergies have gone up by over fifty percent in over a decade, more than 16 million Americans are affected by food allergies thrive, survive, and pass these behaviors and genes on to their next generation (Juan 1).

Public health professionals have long cautioned of a growing obesity epidemic in the U.S. According to Ray Suarez and others experts, Americans are fat and continue to get fatter.

For example, two out of three adults in this country are overweight or obese (Will Obesity Reverse Rise 1). Also, an overwhelming thing about this adjustment is that many individuals are apprehensive about it, are aware of its causes, yet there is nothing that seems to stop it.

In this article, Pollan aims at detailing the role of the food companies in incorporating elements to their food products with the intention of lengthening their shelf life and increase the value. The article notes that food is perishable, as well as expensive to manufacture, thus, the approach by the companies to incorporate preservatives as the cost-effective approach to maximizing profit levels and revenues (Pollan 567). The article provides a platform for understanding factors or issues causing obesity and its increase among the new generation.

They speak with epidemiological data. So, the documents herein prove the escalation in obesity not just in United Stated and Western Europe, also in South America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. For instance, Rolland Cachera as well as Bellisle elaborate data to second the hypothesis that excessive protein intake at infancy is an early obesity sign, in countries where fat and energy intake is decreasing; yet both Maffeis and Schutz elaborate the benefits of less exercise and more fat (Child and Adolescent Obesity 1). That means they don’t fundamentally understand the origin of the in escalation of obesity.

According to Oliver, author of the book “Fat Politics: The Real Story behind America’s Obesity Epidemic,” believes America’s obesity epidemic originates in a simple measure, the body mass index or BMI (Oliver 1). He also gives us the solution to determine the problem of complication. “We have to halt making obesity a doormat for all our ills. This statement elaborates that public health doctors and other professionals need to suspend making mass a health barometer. Very many alarm alleges that the obesity epidemic (Oliver 1).What that means is that other individuals need to not judge themselves based on their size. This book is isolated roughly into 2 sections. The first section elaborated why and how the increase how and why our increased weight has been termed an “obesity epidemic.” And the second section of Oliver’s book discusses the reasons of the escalation of obesity and its impacts.
