Global warming has gotten blamed on industrialization and lack of government cooperation in containing the hazard. Individuals do not realize that they are also to blame for the rise in the problem. They are users of automobiles yet ignore that these means of transportation are a menace to the environment. Research shows that in the US alone automobiles contribute to the production of a quarter or 1.7 billion tons of carbon dioxide.
However, in comparing the brands of vehicles in the market SUVs are one of the greatest producers of emissions. Choosing SUVs as consumers are, therefore, a way of affecting the environment. The sport utility vehicles are known for poor fuel efficiency as well as excess emissions of carbon. This kind of automobile burns a lot of fuel since it is intended to carry people in large numbers and a lot of goods. Conversely, consumers decided to ignore the vehicles use and have turned it into a means of daily transportation (Shaw, 2014). At this rate therefore, environmentalists have a reason to worry and where possible advise the consumers as well as the manufacturers on environmentally friendly ways to use the vehicle.
The growing demand for larger vehicles comes from the feeling of prestige attached to driving such automobiles. Large vehicles have some unique and better features that smaller vehicles do not have. These aspects guarantee comfort and are relatively safe. For example, most large vehicles are four-wheel drives hence can maneuver any terrain and weather.

The fact that the vehicles are raised enables it climb slopes easily. Finally, the capacity they carry is unlike smaller vehicles (Shaw, 2014). Even with an influx of fuel prizes, larger vehicles are believed to be worth the drive with the owners proud to be kings of the road.Reference
