Ave Maria by Andrea Bocelli (Schubert)
The song “Ave Maria” composed by Franz Schubert and performed by Andrea Bocelli is one of the most lyrical pieces in a classical musical. The song begins with an introduction of saxophone, trumpet, and clarinet (Andrea Bocelli) which create some vibrations and pave the way for the Andrea Bocelli to introduce the lyrics. The saxophone also introduces vocal lines that help the performer establish a smooth and receding rhythm which creates a delightful dissonant harmony. At first, one is moved by the soft and angelic vocals of Bocelli due to his deep and masculine voice, which creates a balance and makes the rendition thrilling to listen due to a fantastic combination of magical performance. The more I listen to the recording, the better I like it since it elicits a deep sense of a sensitive and tentative aspect of spirituality.
The song contains stanzas and a chorus phrase “ave maria” which are sung in different tones which makes it diverse and uplifting to listen. Bocelli uses musical repetition in the chorus which helps to maintain a regular rhythm as well as retains uniformity. The frantic and tense vocal creates homophonic texture due to its single voice and melody that stands out from the background accompaniment (Mallory 75). In the music, the accompaniment of the simple instrumental chords distinguishes its melody and its classical composition. The repetition of sound and sequence create a parcel of symmetry and helps in the unification of melody and creates a melodic equivalent.
Wait! Ave Maria paper is just an example!
Listening to the musical piece a couple of times helps one to understand the lyrics even though too much of it started to become boring. Ave Maria creates a profound memory experience, and Bocelli is splendid since the song is like a prayer. The melody is great to hear due to its spiritual component which makes it uplifting and creates calmness when listening to it.
