Did you know that the majority of the car crashes that occur per year can be prevented by banning the use of cell phones? If the drivers were willing to put down their cell phones and focus on driving activity, it could save their lives and the lives of the passengers. The distracted driving has been noted to be the second leading cause of car collisions. The distracter, in this case, is the cell phones. According to the statistical research that has been conducted, it indicates that one out of every four car accidents in the United States is caused by texting while driving. And also each year 1,300,000 are killed in road accidents. This means 3,000 people die every day due to collisions.
On the other hand, cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million car crashes each year. Out of these accidents, nearly 330,000 injuries occur every year due to texting while driving. As a result of these accidents brought about by cell phone use by drivers while on duty, new laws and technology are being used to prevent drivers from becoming distracted. Currently, 14 states prohibited all drivers from using hand-held cell phones while driving. However, no state bans all cell phone use for all drivers.
The other technological devices that are used either in the ear or a direct connection to the vehicle’s radio, Bluetooth technology has been discovered to be a useful tool used to curve distracted driving. Majority of the crashes that occur per year can be prevented by banning the use of cell phones by the drivers when driving.
