Argumentative Essay on Condon Dispensers in Camden County College
Sex education is an integral part of modern society, and the introduction of related courses in the curriculum has been instrumental. Following the increased incidence of AIDs, the Camden County College administration decided that all restrooms should be fitted with condom dispensers. The decision has been met with criticism from some students who have diverse opinions regarding their stance. The move is for the better good of the students, but has a direct and indirect impact on student’s behavior. Condom dispensers will pave the way for increased sexual immorality in the college since it will encourage more students to engage in sexual activity on claims that they have protection.
College students often engage in casual sex where intimacy does not have to be an issue of great concern (Madhok et al. 122). However, many students are afraid of contracting AIDs and other STIs due to unprotected sex. Condom dispensers will encourage more students to engage in immoral acts without worrying about STIs or pregnancy. Restrooms will turn into “mini-brothels” where students can often visit and engage in sexual activity. Washrooms are unguarded, and this means that it will be very challenging to contain the behavior of students who think that condoms warrants sex. However, hiring guards who will be positioned in various restrooms ends up increasing the administration costs, and yet such funds would have been used to cater for other projects.
Wait! Because of the AIDS crisis the College Administration at Camden County College has decided to install condom dispensers in all of the rest rooms paper is just an example!
Unlike snacks or soft drink dispensers, college students do not have to spend even a penny on condom dispensers. The number of students in need of condoms will increase and thereby leading to high demand (Blake 958). Some students will be tempted to pick more condoms than they need. Increased demand will lead to scuffles as student battle for the remaining stock. The personnel mandated with the role of loading the dispensers will be forced to do so regularly. In a nutshell, the move to install condom vending machines is well-thought but would promote moral degeneracy.
