Cell phone tracking is the process where the position of a phone is determined whether it is moving or stagnant. The process usually takes place through the utilization of GPS. The service provider network infrastructure is the one that is used to locate the phone. The three articles discussed will play an essential role in the final essay.

This article by Emma Sloan will be influential to my paper because it talks about the ability of the owner to control the cell phone. The GPS phone tracking software has various advantages and disadvantages. The system can help you track your children together with their phones. If you want to keep track of your spouse, then you can also use it. In case of emergency, the software plays a vital role. Though, the system sometimes may fail to give you the expected result. From the article, it is evident that it also leads to invasion of people’s privacy.

The NSA data mining should and should not be freaked. People should be freaked because of NSA data mining because surveillance that is not checked may be a possible threat to our democracy.

Then, if not keen the NSA may end up coming for you. The article says the danger that the NSA is putting everyone into is not worth it. However, people should be calm because those programs are legal and handled professionally. Terrorism also poses a significant threat to civil liberties. Then people need to be aware that data mining is way much preferred than eavesdropping. This is the main reason the article will be critical in my essay

In this digital era, privacy protection must be applied. The article talks about a court that failed to protect the privacy right of somebody after they convicted someone who was accused of drug abuse. That person was captured using the phone. The government together with a phone company searched for him and thus being arrested. The court said that the tracking did not violet the fourth amendment and though the police tracked him for three continuous days. This article is of much help to my paper as it talks about the government and monitoring our privacy.
