Specific Purpose: I want to let my readers know who Bishop Stanley B. Searcy, Sr. is, his achievements as well as his contributions toward improving the community and empowering people.
Thesis Statement: Bishop Stanley B. Searcy, Sr. is the visionary, founder, and pastor of New Hope the Vision Center in Natchez, MS.
INTRODUCTION
Thinking back to when I was ten years old, I most wanted to be a pastor so that I could help people understand the word of God.
As a kid, I grew up in a family where everyone felt the need to help each other.
Today, underscoring the reminiscences of my childhood age, I will introduce Bishop Stanley B. Searcy, Sr. as my mentor and superstar.

BODY
I. Bishop Stanley B. Searcy, Sr. is a parent, teacher and a pastor whose heart is toward serving the community and empowering people.
A. According to New Hope, the Vision Center, Searcy is a caring husband and affectionate father of five children and twelve grandchildren.1. He is married to Brenda A. Searcy who is also his co-pastor at New Hope the Vision Center.
2. Bishop Stanley B. Searcy, Sr. together with his partner Brenda started the full-time ministry in 1993 after establishing New Hope the Vision Center; they moved from house to house in cell groups.

Bishop Searcy has founded a network of churches not only in the United States but also in Africa, and India, known as the International Kingdom Covenant Churches (Hillyer n.p.).
A. Besides being an ordained Bishop, Searcy is licensed crisis counselor and served as the head of the Natchez’s Ministerial Alliance for two years.
1. Searcy has a doctrine in theology, and his service to the community has always been unquestionable.
2. In 2005, Searcy was acclaimed by the U.S. Red Cross and United Way for his outstanding role in serving over 15,000 victims of Katrina Storm from Texas to Louisiana (New Hope, the Vision Center n.p.).
B. Bishop Searcy’s services continue to benefit people and the Natchez community
1. Gospel Today recognized him as the recipient of “the Most Loved Pastor” award.
2. He also received the Natchez’s “Man of the Year” award.
CONCLUSION
In a nutshell, Bishop Stanley B. Searcy, Sr. is not only an icon but also a role model to many people in the Natchez community.
As a pastor, Bishop Searcy has inspired many people, including me.
I pay tribute to him today for having impacting my life and jumpstarting me on the path of success through his selfless actions and pieces of advice.
