Consider your knowledge of the tactics employed by black leaders during the American civil rights movement, why was Martin Luther King Jnrs decision to employ non-violent protest important? How did this decision shape the perception of the movement and where did king gather his influences FROM to make this decision?
Martin Luther king decision to employ nonviolence was important, since it removed physical resistances, from the political calculation. The protest which would have been seen as riots will be seen dissent. The focus will be on the object of protest, not the character not the behavior of protestors; this is how the nonviolence protest shape the perceptions. Martin Luther King was influenced by Mahatma Gandhi from India when he chose to use nonviolence tactics to fight for the civil rights of the blacks.

It change the nature of civil rights in the United States. Before the act was passed, an employer would advertise jobs stating that “No Negroes need to apply” or positions are for whites only. The prospect of having interracial gatherings in the south was impossible. The act prohibited any racial segregation in the United States. The 1964 civil rights legislation made it illegal unequal applications of voter registrations requirements and paved way of voting rights act of 1965 which made it illegal for discriminatory literacy test and extended other protections

Civil rights movement led to the reemergence of the judiciary Supreme Court included, in its role as a protector of the civil liberties from the majority power.one of the Supreme Court decisions furthered racial equality which become a catalyst of civil protest in the 1950s and 1960s.nd the civil rights which were passed by Congress. The third example was the reappointment decisions. The ruling of the court was that, one person one vote, principles take over all legislative elections. In addition to political and racial equality, .the court ruling also sought to have equality in the criminal justice system.

Martin Luther King advocated for civil rights and equality from a nonviolence point view. Malcolm x approach to civil rights was completely different. He suspected the whites, and he was willing to use any means available to achieve equality. He became a segregationist
Martin Luther king .even in time of violence wanted all races to come out so that hatred and violence could be put to a halt. But Malcolm x had a different approach; he thought that the integration would destroy both the black and the white man. He wanted blacks to be a concern with helping each other, and blacks should have self-respect for themselves first.
Considering your knowledge of the Vietnam conflict, how did the domino theory influence the three presidential administration that oversaw the conflict in Southeast Asia? Include specific examples. The domino theory was cold war policy by the United States which suggested that if communist took over in one nation, there would be a takeover in other neighboring countries. The effect of the domino effect was the spread of the communist rule in the south Asia countries. Domino effect led to the spread of communist government in south Asia countries. The communist took over in South Vietnam by Viet Cong, in Laos by Pathet Lao and in Cambodia by Khmer Rouge. This domino effect led to the spread of communism in Laos and Cambodia.

Discuss in her work silent spring and what were the results of her activism?
Her work led to the modern environmental activism. It raised awareness of environmental issues especially when it came to pollution and application of pesticides and their effect on insect species, human populations, and animals. Her work has led to the outlawing of DDT pesticides and more strict regulation on what could and not be used.
Considering your knowledge of the successes and failures of the environmental movement, please discuss two legislative success of the movement and one failure? Provide specific details about the requirements of these laws and the issues that remain unresolved by the failure of the movement.
One of the successes of the legislation was the ban of the notorious chemical. Though a Nobel Prize was awarded for its discovery, it had affected the environment badly including affecting the shell of bird eggs by thinning them. After this chemical was banned; the endangered species of birds return from extinction. The other success of legislation was regulating the use of pesticide; the environmental agency was given more teeth to enforce the low to restrict the sale of outlawed chemicals
One of the failures of the legislation was the ban of chloroform carbons which is still facing some challenges right now. Although the effects of this of chloroform carbons to the ozone were agreed on, but the significance of ozone depletion was a dispute.

Finally, how did the role of the media in American politics change due to the work of the Washington post in exposing the corruption in the white house?
After the Watergate scandal, the American people were of the opinion that the Supreme Court in the United States is supreme. After the Supreme Court decides that the wiretapping recording is released, the justices were of the opinion that the president is not above the law, and did not agree with Nixon use of executive privilege. This crisis eroded public support for Nixon administration. Before the scandal, the office of the president was seen to be very powerful while after this scandal advocacy of open presidency and people need to know what is going on. The media were granted more free access to information so that they can know what is going on.

The United States has been part of many wars in the Middle East. OPEC has expos the vulnerabilities in the Middle East. OPEC has exposed the United States has been obsessed with the natural resources in the Middle East. After the embargo American had a wakeup call for energy security. The event which happens still drive the United States energy policy after this incident it was realized that United was controlled beyond our borders.
