1. What does federal law say about requiring employees to speak English?
English has been view as a necessity in significant areas of the business. The reason is that it is applied as a mean s of conversation among the employees. English is one of the undisputed global language, and its teaching has taken a different dimension of being a massive international business is most of the people who are carrying out business communicate using the same language, and for them to reach as many clients as possible, they have to the same path of learning English. The idea has made everyone desire to have an English education (Davidson, 42).
2. Do you believe employees working with the public (for example, sales associates) should be required to be able to speak English? Why or why not?
The ability for one to communicate in English places him at the vantage position since it can be considered as a tremendous asset in any of the organizations, especially where most of the workers do not communicate using the English language. For most of the organization who are carrying out business in the international scene commonly engage with the people who are speaking in English as their second or first language(Davidson, 43). This is the reason why English has been termed as vital and essential skill in the workplace. Someone with excellent skills in English can communicate well with the clients at the international level thus helping to create trust among the two parties and create cohesion.

3. Assume that English is not your first language. What should be the balance between maintaining your first language and learning English?
As a beginner or a new learner in the field of English stages has to be taken to enhance proficiency in the same area. There is a need for learning the rhythms and trying to make sense of the messages for one to show the extent of the comprehension (Davidson, 44). This will boost the self-esteem of understanding the use of the common expression in the same field.
