RED WHEELBARROW
I found the poem to be heavily reliant on visual and its respective cognitive imagery. The generalized introduction, encompassing white and red juxtaposed images further augmented by the use of one metaphor – glazed, gives a feeling of reassurance that normal living can once again begin no matter the storms that come and go. I find it very analogous to real life where there are periods of dangers, stress, terror but life and nature balance the ordeals through remediation and restoration. This poem felt to me like a much-needed rainbow after a heavy downpour.
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD
A popular tale, this story depicts:
The never-ending battle between good and evil
Second Chances and responsibilities
Vulnerability of Children
Greed and Hope
RAYMOND CARVERS “CATHEDRAL”
A story of insecurity, detachment, isolation, and jealousy; Raymond Carver’s Cathedral is narrated by an anonymous man as he continues his transition from merely seeing to vehemently looking for the first time in a long time (Carver 4). The first question is that was the narrator ignorant of the perceptions harbored by Robert? and, secondly, what symbolism was meant to be derived from the audiotapes sent by the narrator’s wife?
