Ch 3 Ch 4 Summary
Chapter 3 gives an outline of how personality affects work behaviors. In a given organization, people have different personalities and beliefs which they affect the values they hold about work. These individual differences are important as they help create strong teams since there will be different opinions about how some things should be executed. When organizations are hiring, they look out for individuals who have characteristics and values that match with the organization’s objective. Values such as honesty will influence positive workplace behaviors. Our values act as a mirror of how we perceive other people that are working around us as well as the environment we are working in. Sometimes these perceptions tend to be biased by stereotypes which are mostly based on group characteristics (Huczynski, Buchanan, and Andrzej, 40).
People’s personalities and values also affect their ethical behavior. Our perceptions play a big role in whether we behave ethically or not about other people’s unethical behavior. The two readings apply in my professional work environment since people are required to have ethically and maintain a positive work behavior. Individual differences in a company should not be a cause of ethics violation since every company has a code of ethics that need to be adhered to. In my professional work environment, individual differences are appreciated since it means everyone has a different input to what can be done to make the organization better or to help achieve the objectives.
Wait! ch3 ch 4 Summary paper is just an example!
Ethical violations are regarded as a serious offense, and the right channels should be used to deal with the issue. Employees are expected to work together as a team to make the organization better and also to improve on their career growth without being held back by individual differences.
