The Hague “Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction” is a treaty that was agreed by many different countries that it will be used in the provision of legal frameworks when dealing with child abduction cases. Through the applications of its guidelines, the courts secure an immediate return of a child who was either retained or forcefully removed from their habitual country. In the case of Goldman case study, the law was not effective because the child was not abducted forcefully. The mother had decided to play the role of the custodian. The child had already settled in Brazil and taking him back to the United States would be unfair (Chiancone et al. 208).
Child custody refers to the legal mandate to take care of a child and control him or her. Assessment formula is utilized to identify child custody. The process that requires assessment conducted by specialists: The assessment is carried out to enable the court to understand the interest of the child. A psychologist does the assessment by meeting the child and the parents severally to test and make observations. The observations made by the psychologist help him or her make recommendations, as to which parents get the custody. The assessment report determines the decision of the courts, therefore its recommendable for the participants in it when requested to (Fabricius 139).
There are states with laws that require the noncustodial parents to pay the college tuition for their children.

The Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) is a state law that together with other provisions guides the courts in making judgments of child custody cases. The law is also applied in out of state custody cases. Those states are said to be remaining behind by the rest that has stricken the laws. Such laws mostly affect the divorced parents (Fabricius et al. 230).
