Chinatown is a town situated in North America in between the Grant Avenue and Stockton Street in San Francisco, California, being the oldest city with the largest population of Chinese people living outside of Asia. The perception that the Americans have about the indication of being in Chinatown is because of the roofing famously, Pagoda and for their gates which are dragon type. That makes the town distinctive in some way from the rest of the American cities whether in San Francisco, Las Vegas or even Los Angeles.
Due to the love and concern for their political, economic and their social well-being, the Chinese immigrants had an urge to stay in a confined place with the rest of the China people that had previously settled in the area, Chinatown, San Francisco. However, the earthquake that was experienced in Chinatown in 1906 changed the racial perceptions and increased the racism in the town which spurs right from the time the city got the fire. The fire department as an example put much of its resources on the wealthy residence of the nearby Nob Hill which the Americans lived and neglected the Chinese to be blazed down yet they paid the taxes like the rest of the residents.
The America’s perception of Chinatown as a state filled with drugs and prostitution is with some sense that the Americans never wanted the place to belong to the immigrants from China. For Chinatown was a Centre of tourist attraction, and to some case, the tour guides could attest that the sentiment made of Chinatown is to some sense prone to hyperbole.

After Chinatown had been burnt down by the fires, a local businessman, Look Tin Eli hired architectures, T. Peterson Ross and engineer A.W Burgen to rebuild it though the two architects neither had a clue on how China appeared. They both rather depended on old century images to develop the modern-day Chinatown, San Francisco.
After the old China town had been burnt down, the architectures designed a western-friendly version of the new Chinatown as it was vaguely exotic and safe for the middle-class White America who loved to tour the place for it was well for it was pocket-friendly. The modernization of the new Chinatown to suit the western nature of living attracted mixed reactions from the Chinese immigrants since it was not purely Chinese but a mixture of Chinese-American. The immigrants lost a clear definition of whether it is a Chinese culture or not for the place was not entirely Chinese or American but an architectural hybrid of Chinese American history hence the greater influence to the rest of the Americans.
The modernized new Chinatown as to my perspective is by far the most attractive place to be in North America having the better integration of the Chinese and the American mode of lifestyle. Being a Centre of tourist attraction, it makes it a land full of opportunities since much of the businesses can gain its market attention due to the global visits by most of the tourists globally and also due to the pocket-friendly costs to the tourists.
Chinatown by far should be the tourist destination to the West for its hybrid integration of the architects from the American version and the Chinese model to build the new modernized Chinatown. Despite its beautiful nature, Chinatown offers a lower cost of living despite all the beautiful nature it has hence every tourist ought to take a visit to the place for quite exceptional experiences at a cheaper cost.
