Community Health and Education
Community health is a collective responsibility that calls for the integration of individual efforts in providing quality and affordable health care to members of the society. Quality healthcare spans out of the typical hospital and doctor care to encompass several aspects of our career life. My desire is to provide quality health services to the community regardless of their gender, race, religion or even social class. It is very unfortunate to witness how the less fortunate groups and underserved population in the society suffer due to lack of healthcare services. With the recently acquired dental assistant certificate, my zeal to help the Seattle community is undying. My motive is to ensure that everyone understands the needs of oral hygiene and techniques deployed to prevent and handle various oral problems. Community health and education is an engaging field that requires one to interact with several members of the community and therefore sharing information on how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Dentistry as a career falls under the same docket as public health. This is an added advantage as the transition will have minimal impact on my career. Interaction with members of the community has changed my perception of community health and education programs. The health docket is very engaging and through interaction with individuals from various backgrounds; I have learned more about the relationship between the community, healthcare, and education.

However, the dominant enthusiasm to be questioned and challenged prompts me to pursue public health since it a thought-provoking and a constantly changing field of study. The need to engage members of the population in thoughtful discussions acts as a motivating force to emancipate and educate the masses on the importance of community health and education.
The community healthcare and education system has not been exhaustively explored, and there is a need to learn more about the core values and principles of the health care docket. However, the area of community health and education is a developing sector with lots of employment opportunities. The emergence of new diseases necessitates the need for consistent research which embodies the healthcare docket as a pool of opportunities. A transition from dentistry to community health and education guarantees employment. I must acknowledge that the transition is a journey that requires me to pursue a course in public health considering I missed a chance to join the University of Washington Seattle to pursue the same course. This was attributed by various family situations that constrained my ability to pursue my dream career. I would not prefer my siblings to fall into the same trap and therefore aims at laying a foundation for their future lives.
Past life experiences are pivotal in influencing and shaping our future. My life encounters in my nation of origin, Somalia, are disheartening and I promised myself to take action to address community health and education crisis among the less fortunate individuals in the society. Research shows that most people succumb to illnesses and problems that can be alleviated through effective community health and education programs. Knowledge on community health and education is crucial in serving the community better through commitment. However, this is also an opportunity to reach out to the young generation and motivating them to learn. The principal goal is to improve the level of literacy and producing a healthy, productive and able-bodied population. The society will, therefore, achieve positive social, political and economic growth through sustainable development projects.
