Council Meeting
A council meeting of the City of Surrey was conducted on Monday, July 9, 2018. During the meeting a number of important decisions were made. The council approved the Development Variance permit No. 7918-0002-00. However, the council did not discuss the details of the matter. In addition, the council also deliberated on the issue of land use in Fleetwood/Guildford, 8488-160 street. It is instructive that the issue concerned was related to land Development Variance Permit. After a long discussion, the council agreed to ratify Development Variance Permit No. 7918-0192-00 (City Council of Surrey, 2). In essence, the decision had the effect of altering some of the Zoning Bylaws.
It was important for the council to make decisions that would help the residents of the City of Surrey. Regarding the decision on the approval of the Development Variance permit No. 7918-0002-00, the council made the right assessment. However, it is my belief that the council made the wrong decision in respect to the land use in Fleetwood/Guildford, 8488-160 street (City Council of Surrey, 2). The decision had the effect of altering the Zoning Bylaws. Sufficient evidence was not provided to show how the public would benefit from the outcome. The assessment had set a risk precedent that would have far-reaching consequences.
In conclusion, the council of the City of Surrey made important decisions in its previous meeting. The meeting was largely dedicated to dealing with land use issues.

It was important that the decisions were made to help the residents of the City of Surrey lead better lives and fulfill their potential.
