The US political spectrum is divided into two dominant political ideologies namely the right-wing and the left-wing. The right-wing has different opinions with the left-wing regarding the role of the government and the respect of human rights. The right-wing is made up of conservatives who believe that the society is best served when the powers of the government are minimized (Heywood, 2017). In the long run, respect for human rights and other civil liberties becomes a requirement. The right-wing prefer sticking to the old ways rather than embracing change. However, their political philosophy may allow them to go overboard at times.
Unlike the left-wing who believes in equality among all, the right-wing has a different perspective about the same. The right-wing demands that the government should impose lower taxes and lessen regulation barring the growth of the business (Heywood, 2017). They believe that everyone has a role to play regarding facilitating growth and development. The left-wing on the other hand wants the wealthier individuals in the society to pay more taxes while the other population receives a subsidy. They expect the government to take care of the affairs of the nation and its citizens.
There exists a disparity between the two political ideologies in policies such as immigration, healthcare, education, and civil liberties. The left-wing support universal educational rights while the right-wing believe that parents have the right to choose how they wish to school their children.

While the left-wing support universal health care with the sole intention of promoting inclusivity, the right-wing emphasizes the need to have purchase medical and insurance covers (Heywood, 2017). The right-wing does not condone illegal migration, but the left-wing is a bit lenient. The left-wing is involved in the constant campaigns geared towards respect of human rights. The right-wing is opposed to policies aimed at promoting civil liberties.
