Definition of Pop Culture
Pop culture is movies, music or ideas that are considered acceptable and accessible by a majority of people. In modern days, pop culture is transmitted via mass media with an objective of targeting young people. According to Danesi, pop culture is the surrounding of people. In other words, all that is happening in people’s everyday lives are brought by pop culture. Therefore, Danesi explained the human desire for the meaning of pop culture which he found to be derived from the social structure. In one of his two chapters entitled digital culture, Danesi established that pop culture is inextricably linked to technology to enhance passage of essential information to the concerned (Danesi 72).
Relatively, other folks viewed pop culture as an interaction between people in their everyday activities like reception, rituals and dressing styles. According to Daniel (53), popular culture is the most contemporary aspects of people’s lives because it has been recognized as people’s practice that dominates in every community at a particular time. Other folks have noted that these contemporary aspects are subject to rapid changes, particularly in this era of the fast technological world in which people are brought closer by omnipresent media. Moreover, there are specific standards, and the commonly held belief that is reflected in pop culture hence indicates and influences people’s everyday life.
Additionally, some folks have described pop culture as something that appeals to people because it provides an opportunity for individual happiness and communal bonding.

Although the various examples of pop cultures were identified from a wide array of genres, it was argued by many folks that sports and television are the most extensively working examples of pop culture. For instance, the competition is considered to be prevalent in most communities and represents a large part of many people’s lives. Consequently, showing allegiance to a team as a way of self-identification has been regarded by other folks as a typical behavior hence forming a more significant part of pop culture.
