Admission Essay
I have nurtured an internal interest in computer graphics, VR, and physics over the past years. In my childhood, I used to play video games like Counter-Strike, Super Mario and many others. Counter-Strike is a series of multiplayer first-person shooter video game in which teams of terrorists perpetrate an act of terror like hostage-taking and counter-terrorists battle to and prevent it like hostage rescue. Similarly, Super Mario games trail Mario’s fictitious in the Mushroom Kingdom, typically with Mario as the major personality. He is occasionally joined by Luigi and different affiliates of the Mario troupe. The game has modest designs like the action when of Mario liberating the abducted Princess Peach from the prime adversary. The games sparked my curiosity to create something of my own. I developed a Cornell box model and photographed it with a CCD camera. I met a challenge in coming up with the exact settings under the radiation continuum of the light source, reflectance ranges of the exteriors, the magnitude of all entities, and the light source. The acts made me step out of my comfort zone as I targeted to build a modest physical setting in which illumination, geometry, and actual reflectance properties are dignified and equated to a computer spawned epitome. Consequently, I ended up simulating my room on the screen and simulated the lighting accuracy.
I learned the basics of the engine by downloading and installing an Unreal Engine 4 to my computer.

My curiosity made me try to use it in creating a game, an arch viz, game environment art, playable levels for a game and coming up with cinematics. Consequently, the acts arouse my interests in computer graphics, physics, and Virtual Reality. Similarly, the digital era that we live in calls for a potential revolutionizing on the way people handle different tasks in their daily undertakings. Therefore, this has motivated me to seek a relevant degree qualification in your university so as to fulfill my passion and career targets.
My high school education helped me to attain rudimentary abilities in encoding and cultivate a virtuous slant to computers. My computer science teacher aided me in perfecting my programming skills by enhancing my problem-solving ability. Studying physics made me comprehend the law of “cause and effect,” and augmented my inquisitiveness as to what makes things behave in a particular manner. On the same note, the subjects made me retain my attentiveness under pressure and learn how to array my priorities resourcefully.
The experiences I have had in my lifetime have made me apprehend the sway of video games in the diverse stratum of the contemporary society. The act contributes to my decision of undertaking a course in computer graphics, physics, and virtual reality. According to my perception, storytelling in video games teaches many about the real world, the complexity of relationships among people, and life decisions that people need to take into consideration. Therefore, this thrills me to seek for relevant knowledge so that I can create video games that will act as life changing tools to many individuals across the globe.
I firmly believe that Cornell’s College of Arts and Science is the right environment for me to pursue my interests in computer graphics, physics, and virtual reality. Given an opportunity, I will enroll in the program of physics that enables undergraduates to have an opportunity of conducting research in their areas of specialization and participating in community outreach activities. The teaching fraternity of the College acts as the best to equip me with necessary skills and traits that I need as I pursue my career goals.
