I have twenty workmates nine of who are male while eleven are female. Their heights range from 44 inches to 87 inches. Further, they have varying weights with the person weighing the least at 114 pounds and 173 pounds being the heaviest workmate. A quick calculation reveals the mean or average weight to be 146.45 pounds while the mean height is 57.6 inches. Two of my workmates weigh 156 pounds, and this is the most common weight. A similar number of workmates have a height of 54 inches which is also the most common height. More calculations reveal that the standard deviation for the height and weight are 15.6524 and 11.4359 respectively. Calculations were also done in respect of the range of data. The minimum range of my co-workers’ heights was 114 while the maximum was 173. As for the height, it the minimum and maximum ranges were 44 and 87 respectively.
Collecting this data was by far the most tedious yet exciting part of the study. I had a good rapport with most of my workmates but gathering such information from people usually requires some level of comfort. Ladies were particularly uncomfortable with disclosing their weights. However, once I managed to convince them that it was all for science, then they were very responsive. Data collection also gave me a chance to interact with the individuals that I rarely talked to while in the workplace. Lastly, it also gave me a chance to brush up on my statistics skills which I had almost completely forgotten about as it has been so long since I last used them.

Drawing the graphs and calculating the means, median and mode were also exciting.
