Fire tragedies are often unforeseen, and hence the importance to put measures to fight the fire. The law requires buildings to instore firefighting equipment in a bid to reduce destruction and save lives in case of a fire (Potter 1). This paper reflects on the firefighting equipment installed in a 13-story building.
The first floor serves as the reception. It has ten automatic sprinkler systems all in a perfect working condition. It has five fire hose reel systems, five manual alarm systems, and four emergency lighting systems. It has three escape route staircases, three bulkheads, and one escape map. Classrooms occupy the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth floors. They have at least eight working automatic sprinkles each, four functional fire hose reel systems, four manual fire alarm systems, and three emergency lightings. Moreover, they have three escape route staircases, three bulkheads, and one escape map.
The library occupies the seventh floor. It has ten automatic sprinkler systems, four fire hose reel systems, four manual alarm systems, and four emergency lighting systems. It also has two escape route staircases, three bulkheads, and one escape map. The computer room occupies the eighth and ninth floors. It has ten automatic sprinklers in each floor, but only six of the ten are working. Besides, there are five fire hose reel systems, five manual fire alarm systems, and four emergency lightings on each floor.

There are also two escape route staircases, three bulkheads, one escape map, and one mechanical ventilation system. Laboratories occupy the last four floor of the building. Each floor of the lab has ten automatic sprinkler, five fire hose reel systems, five manual alarm systems, and four emergency lighting systems. Lastly, there are three escape route staircases, three bulkheads, one escape map and one mechanical ventilation system.
In summary, the building is fitted with firefighting equipment in each floor, ranging from automatic sprinkler systems, fire hose reel systems, fire alarms, emergency lightings, and escape routes. However, some are faulty and need to be fixed to ensure they are ready in case a fire accidentally starts.
