I suppose that the designer is a multimedia artist and an animator. Multimedia artists and animators create visual content while designing backgrounds for plays or content to be displayed. Therefore, I think that the designer would fit the roles mentioned above as people working in those fields are tasked with the duty to portray feelings in a play and the designs used. It is also the role of the artist to develop metaphoric designs, and use the effects created by light to ensure that the images displayed are realistic and appealing to the audience. Additionally, light helps in the creation of dramatic effects in a play. The design field that appeals to me most is the use of makeup to embolden the actor’s features and characterize them the way the actor should appear. This field is appealing because it ensures that the characters are realistic and metaphorical.
The reinstatement of the sound design category was important because production relies on electronic sound enhancement. The sound designs help in expanding theatrical potentials, and they make plays more appealing (Cohen, 2013). Projection design is vital for a theatrical production. It is critical since it helps in ensuring that sound is projected and edited appropriately to produce the original artwork and enhance visual characteristics of the same. If I were to update a character from Oedipus Rex to modern times, I would transform Oedipus, the ruler to portray the present image of kings. In this light, fig 1 shows King Oedipus in modern costume.

In conclusion, it is important to include recent technology in theatre. Technology helps in enhancing the visibility and aesthetic components of theatre, and this creates improved plays. Also, sound projections are crucial since they ensure that the audience can clearly understand the message conveyed by the characters.
