Week 1 discussion
In the contemporary society, leaders play a crucial role in the success of organization or institutions they are leading. Good leader propels their organizations to grow and expand, opposing to bad leaders. Thus, for any organization to achieve its goals, it needs a right leader. For instance, as a home health nurse, I have discovered that leaders are of great significance not only to organizations but also to people they are leading. For example, my experience with my nurse leader has been great, and I have enjoyed working with her. Analyzing my nurse leader critically, it is evident that the best leadership theory that she has subscribed to is the relationship or transformational theories (Morton, 2012). The reason why I think my leader has subscribed to transformational theory is that she is a great example follow. Subsequently, she is always there for consolidation and guidance in case any need arises, thus helping us to realize our potential fully.
For instance, my personal experience with my nurse leader has been amazing. When I joined the organization, I never knew I would grow into successful nurse the person I am today. With no experience and naive, I thought everything would be hard on my path. However, she called me into her office and asked me to feel like home, be open to her and never hesitate to talk to her any time I need her help. It took me less than a week to feel like part of this organization’s family because of her excellent leadership qualities.

Whenever I made a mistake while on duty, she never harassed me, instead she gently told me what I should do to avoid such error in future. Besides, she guided me and gave me more skills on how to deliver best services to the society as a home health nurse.
