Does Reducing Class size improve Student Achievement?
The debate concerning class reduction in order to improve student performance has raked for years. Some researchers have not been convinced that small sized classes aid in student performance. On the contrary, researchers such as Jeremy et al. (2005) have argued that when the class is designed in a manner that they accommodate fewer learners, then the achievement, as well as performance of such students, improve almost significantly. Jeremy’s investigation suggests that students in small-sized classes achieve higher grades in almost all subjects and on very assessment, this does not case with students in larger classes (Finn, Gerber & Boyd, 2005). Students in small-size classes appear to be ahead of those in larger classes in content knowledge given their performance in standardized appraisals.

Most individuals, some of whom ear not even in teaching fraternity thinks that a small class results in an improved quality of education (Mishel & Rothstein, 2002). The size of the class is not an issue, what matters is the quality of education rendered by a given institution of learning. It appears as a skeptic for people to want to think that reducing the class improves the performance of students.
