Drafting on the Arab-Israeli conflict

This conflict, from the perspective of Israel, has its historical roots in the aspirations of the Jews of Europe to found a state on earth who consider their "homeland mother". The first great wave of Jewish migration to Palestine is known as Aliyá (descent), and began in 1881 as a consequence of the ideas of characters such as Moses HESS, precursor of Zionism. 

Palestine at the end of the 19th century was part of the Ottoman Empire, within the great Syria (Al Sham). Following several theses and investigations, about half a million inhabitants populated the region, of which 75% professed the Muslim religion of Rite Suní. 20% were mostly Arab of Christian religion and 5% were Jews. Within the latter we can find both Sephardic Jews (they are the descendants of those who lived in Spain until 1492), and Mizrajís (descendants of the Jewish communities of the Middle East and North Africa). Society is quite cosmopolitan since there are no borders, the Ottoman Empire is very amplio and is divided into administrative regions but without strict separations. Mostly Levante) constitutes a true crossroads for trade and exchanges with many steps. 

There are also intellectual, cultural and political exchanges. A large number of foreigners live, including Greeks and Iranians, many of them are merchants who have settled there for trade. Some come from North Africa which create the Maghreb neighborhood and are also faithful of Bahaism, a religion pursued in Persia, which find refuge there.

A small percentage of Europeans, such as French families that have been installed there to develop the trade of construction materials, and also English and Italians. Together with a majority of peasant population (Los Fellahs), there is a bourgeois elite of large land owners and a citizen elite. 

The latter benefits from the development that Ottomans give to schools, and schools founded by foreigners that allow them to acquire the domain of some languages and travel abroad to study. There they are formed and once converted into journalists, doctors or lawyers form an intellectual and political elite that aim to install with claims against Ottoman power. This idea of independence also includes the claims of the language, such as re -useing Arabic in all administrative documents.
