Reform in Education
Formal education is viewed with various constraints. Although the bureaucratic style of education endorses education for all under a common roof, it is not very efficient. Students or children cannot be moulded like inorganic objects and every individual has different requirements based on their inherent capacities. Moreover, education is a system in which parents, teachers and students are equally involved. However, culture influences such interactions and uniformity in approach is not always feasible. Reforms must be inculcated in a schooling curriculum for achieving success in formal education.
Open classrooms are very useful in providing effective formal education. These classrooms encourage flexible, democratic and non-competitive learning. Open classrooms are beyond formal systems and hence encourage openness of thoughts, innovation and creativity. Therefore, for education to be effective and penetrative the “Montessori Philosophy” is very useful. This means each and every child should have the option to decide on his or her learning approach. Co-operative learning is another reform that would help students to share their concepts and knowledge with each other.
Whether it is an innovative learning approach or a co-operative learning approach, teachers should integrate thoughts and philosophies of students into applicability.

Wait! Education paper is just an example!

A recent Government report expressed concerns that Americans will lose ground to competitors based on education. Public funded schools like charter schools or magnet schools should be encouraged in parallel with formal education system. Compensatory education must be looked into where there are certain deficiencies in cognitive ability of child. Lastly, any reform in the education system must be sociologically compatible. This means non-discrimination of students based on race and ethnicity, discrimination based on lack of capacity or ability and meritocracy must be avoided.
