STRENGTH – IncredibleApps has hired the best mobile app developer in the world, programming whiz kid Anna Maria Gutierrez. At age 17, Anna has a global reputation and companies from around the world are clamoring for her apps.
OPPORTUNITY – A recent study by Businessweek has found that brick-and-mortar companies which have no mobile or internet presence find it difficult getting customers in Generation X, Y and Z markets. The study also found that these companies can increase their chances of getting more customers in these markets by launching a mobile app.
By hiring the best developer of mobile apps, IncredibleApps has increased its competitive advantage in providing customers and clients with quality mobile and internet presence. The brick-and-mortar companies would be looking for the best mobile app provider to grow their customer base. Hence, IncredibleApps should be targeting to partner with these companies as their provider for mobile apps services. The company should focus on developing quality mobile apps specific to the Generation X, Y, and Z populations to seize the opportunity presented by the brick-and-mortar companies’ need to reach those markets.
STRENGTH – IncredibleApps has a very strong marketing and public relations function; It knows how to cash in on public relations and publicity opportunities. If there’s good news about mobile apps in the air, IncredibleApps knows how to spin it hugely in their favor.

THREAT – Codigo recently launched a worldwide tradeshow to highlight the strength of its mobile app development talent. Codigo expects to get a windfall of new customers from this global event, reducing the new customer base for IncredibleApps.
From its strong public relations and marketing function, IncredibleApps can effectively promote its brand globally. Codigo’s worldwide tradeshows would threaten to sway a significant portion of new customers to its advantage. To offset this threat, IncredibleApps needs to strengthen its marketing activities globally to attract new customers as well as strengthening the loyalty of the existing customers.
WEAKNESS – IncredibleApps has no experience with wOOlOOhOOlOO, a bleeding edge mobile development language that experts say will be industry standard within a year.
OPPORTUNITY – Demand is building in Fortune 1000 companies for mobile apps developed in wOOlOOhOOlOO, a bleeding edge mobile development language which is predicted to revolutionalize how companies can gather information about their customers.
The lack of expertise with wOOlOOhOOlOO would mean that the company’s mobile apps, which lack the new mobile development language, could be out of demand in the future. Due to companies’ growing need to gather customer information, the demand for mobile apps with the new development language would be high. To take advantage of this opportunity, IncredibleApps should focus on building its expertise with wOOlOOhOOlOO. This could include directing more resources and hiring personnel with the wOOlOOhOOlOO expertise.
WEAKNESS – IncredibleApps has no significant ties to social media players, and is relatively weak in social media in general.
THREAT – ArcTouch has announced that it intends to partner with social media companies to develop richer mobile apps for its clients. If their plans succeed, ArcTouch may steal a significant portion of the IncredibleApps client base.
With no significant ties with social media or social media players, IncredibleApps would face stiff competition if ArcTouch were to partner with social media players. Many customers and clients for the mobile apps spent enormous time on social media. IncredibleApps should thus target partnering with some of the major social media players to upgrade their mobile apps. The company should also increase its participation in different social media platforms to enhance its interaction with customers. This would not only minimize the threat but would also improve the company’ understanding of its customers.
