The RAE defines trust as "firm hope that you have of someone or something" or "agreement or agreement made hidden and rewarded between two or more people, particularly if they are treators or trade" between several of the meanings. However, trust is not restricted to commercial relations, but are found in all interpersonal relationships, so a definition like the latter would be very brief and would not cover many aspects to take into account, especially in whichThey want to cover in this work.
Among the many definitions that can be found in the literature on trust, is Mayer et al.: “The disposition of a party to become vulnerable to the actions of another, based on the expectation that the other will carry out a relevant action for the first (the one that trusts), without taking into account the ability to monitor or controlTo that second part ". Although it is not reached a consensus, it could be understood that this is one of the most accepted, since the article has been cited 18.020 times according to Google Scholar. However, contrasting with the many other ways to conceptualize this construct, I found in many of them two keywords: disposition/will (Willingness) and vulnerability (for example, dietz (year); Mayer et al; Lewicki. It is striking to make the word disposition, associating a mental state. This is because trust per se, does not imply actions;since taking these risks (of becoming vulnerable) are the ones that Lewicki (appointment: book) defines as confidence behaviors, and they enter one of the typologies that this author establishes;will be explained later.

Also, this choice of words implies some freedom towards it, that is, when we trust, we do it voluntarily. For this reason, it is also distinguished between trust as attitude and trust as a choice. In this review, I will follow the recommendation of the latter author, and I will consider trust as an election, rather than as an attitude.
In addition, I consider that it is relevant to make a distinction between trust (Trust) and Confidence (Confidence). Since the second, it implies more a blind faith, while trust carries with it a greater number of implications, since it includes the perception of the other’s abilities. This idea is developed by Mayer et al. in depth and will be explained later, as part of the background of trust.
