Summary
Background: old age is part of the cycle of life where the human body perceives very noticeable changes, both physical and internal. The elderly becomes susceptible to external and internal factors that do not allow him to maintain his physiological, emotional, social and cultural well -being. In order to know the causes that prevent their development and comfort, a series of ideas that are believed, which affect the development of this group have been raised.
Objective: Establish and quantify the different agents that affect the elderly in their improvement and quality of life within the “San Vicente de Paul” center of the Santa Isabel canton.
Methodology: A quantitative approach was developed in which twenty -five elders between seventy -eight and ninety years of age were participated, who were presented with a survey associated with possible causes that harm their life condition. Next, the focal group method was used specifying age, gender, cultural origin and dependent adults;The information provided was analyzed and tabulated according to the proposed categories.
Results: According to the data acquired from the San Vicente de Paul de Santa Isabel Center, the factors that positively affect are the performance of dynamic activities, the care provided by trained personnel, interaction with other members of the group. And, negative as adaptation to the environment, stressful situations, serious diseases, abandonment, fragile feelings and lack of dependence.

Conclusion: According to the survey applied to older adults of the San Vicente de Paúl Center, it was obtained that 55 % of men predominant factors are positive in 73 % and 27 % negative. While, 45 % of women, the positive factors stood out of the negatives with 26 % difference.
Introduction
Like birth, development and reproduction, aging is a natural biological act through which every living being has to comply with the so -called life cycle. Older adults are subjects of law, socially active, with guarantees and responsibilities regarding themselves, their family and their society, with their immediate environment and with future generations. People age in multiple ways depending on the experiences, crucial events and transitions faced during their life courses, that is, it implies development and deterioration processes. Generally, an older adult is a 60 -year -old person.
Being a process that affects both the life of the adult itself, and in the family and other community, it is of vital importance to seek action plans in which the attention, well -being and quality of life of the elderly is improved. Many of the time the economic-social factor is a cause for this objective to be achieved, the majority of older adults in Ecuador are victims of exclusion and rejection, because, the state of life becomes complicated because they are nottaken into account in work activities or social-cultural tasks.
Hence the option of opting for nursing home […] that provide a wide range of health services and personal care. Its services include nursing care, 24 -hour supervision, three meals per day and helps with everyday activities. Rehabilitation services, such as physical, occupational and speech therapy, are also available.
Because of this, this work seeks to demonstrate what is the importance of knowing the factors that prevent and delay well -being and improve the quality of life within the centers aimed at the help of the elderly. For this, a survey was conducted with several senior citizens of the San Vicente de Paul Center of the Santa Isabel canton, in order to exhibit what are the scenarios that slow the total development of the elderly, in order to disseminate alternatives that enrich theconditions and quality of life, where this group is highly included and participant in the socio-family programs of said centers.
General objective
Promote in the third adults of the San Vicente de Paul center of the Santa Isabel canton an active old age, full of health and well -being, aimed at satisfying basic human needs, through the analysis and interpretation of the different external and internal agents that influencequality of life.
Specific objectives
- Establish patterns that negatively and positively influence the biological, social, cultural well -being of older adults.
- Discover the level of influence that the factors on the quality of life possess.
- Identify the main obstacles in the adaptation management of the elderly.
Theoretical foundation
Aging
Aging is a natural process that occurs throughout the life cycle from conception to death, which is a process of changes, biological, psychological, needs, limitations, losses, abilities, opportunities and human strengths of individuals in individuals inContinuous interaction with social, economic, cultural life during the course of time. Currently, aging is a global phenomenon that has huge economic, social and political consequences.
Older adult
Older adults are subject to right, with guarantees, also faces a huge amount of changes both physical and emotional. According to the WHO there are four groups that are considered older adult, in which we have adults older young people from 60 to 70 years, older adults from 75 to 84 years, adults older adults from 85 to 99 years and centenarians100 years and more.
According to the investigation carried out through surveys in the nursing home San Vicente de Paul of the Santa Isabel canton, we obtained data that 55% are a man of which 75% are old elderly adults, of 75% 30% are retired, with higher instruction level, widowsecondary. Meanwhile, in women, which is 45%, they are 100% are old -old adults, within 100%, 88% Widowed Civil Status, level of primary instruction, lack insurance, but receives financial aid from their children,9 % divorced marital status, they have insurance, higher level instruction, 3 % widowed civil status, do not have instruction, have no family, receive financial support from different foundations.
Quality of life of the members of the nursing home "San Vicente de Paúl de Santa Isabel"
According to WHO, he defines the quality of life as: “The perception that an individual has of his place in existence, in the context of culture and the value system in which he lives and in relation to his objectives, his expectations, their expectations,Its rules, your concerns. It is a concept that is influenced by the physical health of the subject, its psychological state, its level of independence, its social relations, as well as its relationship with the environment ”.
WHO also makes us known that many older adults suffer from discrimination, respect, stigma among other factors, according to this, the protection of the human rights of the elderly among the main people are: equality and does not discriminate againstage reasons, life and dignity in old age, participation and integration, social security, health, property among others.
Hypothesis
Within the quality of life there are different factors that cause positive and negative effects on each of the people. Because it concords of the investigation carried out to the members of the nursing home “San Vicente de Paúl de Santa Isabel” we obtained data that both in men and women 78% present positive factors of which 23% for health care bothOn a physical level, as a psychological, 19% for the time and the attention they give them, to be accepted as they are 20% for respect and not be discriminated against either by their race, gender, culture, 16% by activitiesdynamics which help practical intelligence and divergent thinking, interaction with other people, etc. 22% that are the negative factors, of which 14% by adaptation, the abandonment of their loved ones that reaches depression, not to appetite which would come to cause serious diseases, to the suffering day by day,5% did not even think about this stage of their life, 3% do not like their age.
This naturally makes us understand the needs to carry out action programs that favor their continuous development, generate new knowledge in order to achieve an improvement the quality of life.
In this way the nursing home is a place for people who do not needThey cannot use themselves, or who do not have the help of a loved one to lead a normal and healthy life.
Methodology
The type of research that we have used in this research work is quantitative, this is an approach that serves to assess, quantify, measure and graph the results or data we can obtain from physical procedures such as the interview. In this system we can say that the information cannot be altered in any way since it has a specific and clear documentation about a topic as it is in this case the factors that influence the quality of life of the elderly of the asylum of the asylum ofElders "San Vicente de Paúl de Santa Isabel", where 25 members of this institute have been surveyed where 15 of these were older adults of a male and 10 were older adults of a female nature, all of them presented an age of 78 and 90 yearsIn addition to other characteristics such as cultural origin, or if they presented some kind of dependence on making some of their daily routines.

- According to the investigation carried out in the nursing home “San Vicente de Paúl de Santa Isabel”, it publicizes the percentage of the different present variables of the twenty -five members of the reception center, where practically their results led to an answer to an answermore positive about the various factors that affect during the life period.
- Aging well is everyone’s ideal, but a positive old age can only be the result of a life framed in the parameters that social welfare contains, enjoying rights and opportunities like any other stage.
