Answered Question
Linux and Microsoft are two of the oldest operating systems in existence, each designed to facilitate easy human use. Linux has specialized in offering cheap, secure and having a wide array of customization options. Windows focuses more on ease of use and compatibility with many devices making it more popular.
The first obvious difference between the two is the process of familiarization with the system. Linux offers a more complex experience that requires greater comprehension for ordinary day to day tasks. Windows offers a simpler learning curve, where tasks are simplified extensively to increase user-friendliness.
The second difference is on security, which greatly favors Linux. Viruses reported on Linux are in the low hundreds compared to the near hundreds of thousands of Windows. Since we mentioned compatibility, the lack of numerous malware could be attributed to less software being compatible to run on Linux. Linux puts a huge emphasis on security which makes it very popular in the IT sector, while Windows is more vulnerable due to more lenient measures of security.
The third difference is that though Windows is the most widespread operating system for desktops and computers in the world, most of its software is licensed on a “fee-for-product” basis (Cybersource Pty. Ltd, 2002) which is different from Linux which offers most of its software is open source and free.
Wait! Final’s paper is just an example!
This, however, is not always exploitable since most software companies write for compatibility with windows.
