Framer James Madison
People who created the constitution of the United States are called founders, they also called framers. Only one framer is known to be the founder of the constitution, i.e. James Madison. Politically, he lacked the appearance of many. He was short in state and soft-spoken. Unfortunately, he had been sick during his childhood and young adult. He grew up from a humble background in Virginia from where he enjoyed reading. The school he went was the one that later became Princeton. For a long time, he did know the kind of job he wanted to venture in. he was a member of Virginia House of delegates. He was also continental congress during and after the revolutionary war in America (Bailyn, 40). He was also the fourth president of United States of America.
James Madison participated in the independence debates when he notices that the colonists started the revolutionary war. As a result, he emerged to be among the continental congress members. He called for the Confrontation Congress to build a strong nation when the revolutionary war ended (Ely Jr, 45).
Madison’s reading habit called for hi thinking concerning the constitution. The central government which James Madison recommended became the breakthrough for the conversation of delegates. James Madison lacked the authority to the other delegates due to his age by then. However, he influenced the constitutional changes through several methods. James Madison used to take notes during the conventions to be familiar with how the meetings proceeded.
Wait! Framer James Madison paper is just an example!
In his notes, he used to include the details of speeches of all other delegates and the exchanges of ideas. Funny enough, since all the delegates didn’t want the discussions to be known, his made sure that his notes were secretive until the death of all, including himself.
Madison went ahead to persuade other state leaders to adopt the constitution. This happened after the constitutional convention and the states had to take an extra step where state legislators had to either vote for approval or ratify the constitution he and others had founded. He did this in conjunction with John Jay and Alexander Hamilton. James Madison advocated for an organizational structure with bureaucracy where the employees and the people within the organization follow certain laid down rules and procedures and are liable for any actions that they undertake for all people in the United States.
He was key in defending the constitution. It is said that he argued that national population was likely to have many groups with diverse interests. He thought that this would result in good consensus instead of having to dominate over others. He also argued that people needed to have a government for controlling them. After convincing many legislators to adopt the constitution, he was elected as a member of the House of Representatives under the newly formed government in the year 1788.
Madison was a close ally of George Washington. He worked as the personal advisor to George Washington. He pioneered passing of several bills in the first Congress which helped to form the new government. He formed the Democratic-Republican Party to oppose the powerful Alexander Hamilton. He was against the centralization of power. In 1808, he won the presidential election. When diplomatic protests and trade issues against the UK, he led the US in war though they had neither army nor finance. He thus came forward and supported a national government together with the national bank. He is viewed as a president who was above average.
