The United Postal Service UPS Inc. is one of the transport service providers that specialize in supply chain management and shipping. The organization conducts different studies with the aim of improving its performance and applying the right comprehensive marketing strategies. Apart from these activities, it aims to deliver quality services through market-based research. Therefore it applies both quantitative and qualitatively researched methods. Group interviews are one of the methods used by the company for research.
Applying the right research methods determines the ability of the managers to use the right managerial decision making. Group interviews involve multiple participants. It, therefore, works well with simulation exercise that involves problem-solving exercise where the participants have to respond as a team. The process, therefore, provides an opportunity for the business researcher to identify common problems facing a group of clients. It presents an extensive perspective and views of the participants. The method has proved to be sufficient for determining factors such as the impact of organizational changes on the market. Focus group interviews have been useful in developing the right strategies that identify adequate process and development of the proper marketing techniques (Cooper, 52).
The group interviews and other methods applied have worked well for the organization. However, it needs to improve on developing new strategies and enhancing surveys as this provides extensive information from more participants.
