How Clark Atlanta University will prepare me for future leadership
Ever since I was young, I have always had an intense desire to work in the media industry. Growing up, I used to adore famous media personalities like Oprah who spoke openly of the social ills facing various individuals in the United States. Oprah showed that the media acts as a powerful tool for social change. The press allows many individuals to know essential events that have happened and others that are yet to occur. For example, communication tools such as the radio and television usually offer hurricane warnings to millions of people each year saving lives. The media also relays crucial economic and political changes which increase the general awareness of the citizens (Couldry 9). I genuinely believe that in the Radio, Television, and Digital Communications field I can truly make a difference.
My personality fits the requirements of the Radio, Television, and Digital Communications degree offered at Clark Atlanta University. I have been participating in the choir since I was in Third grade and I used to participate in the drama club. I have always wanted to appear before the public. In sports, I have always been among the most active cheerleaders of our school teams. The mentioned activities have increased my public confidence that will enable me to participate and appear before large crowds.
I would like to join Clark Atlanta University because of various other reasons.

Wait! How do you feel Clark Atlanta University would prepare you for future leadership? paper is just an example!

Like most leaders, I usually strive to work with a diverse group of people. Clark Atlanta University (n.p.) accommodates a diverse group of students from all over the world. By encouraging the coexistence of different races and cultures, the University portrays the values of tolerance and association. Different cultures and beliefs will increase my understanding and appreciation of people from different backgrounds. The experience and knowledge acquired from the institution will provide a foundation for future leadership success.
The University’s core values outlined in the website will undoubtedly instill some necessary attributes of leaders. The institution promotes quality and excellence in service to all stakeholders and encourages integrity and accountability among the students. The university nurtures social responsibility and ethical behavior on the students. Lastly, the core values advocate for respect for natural environments and all members of the society (Clark Atlanta University n.p.). Studying in a university that believes in such values will reinforce my leadership traits.
Finally, the University has distinguished alumni. The university website includes Alexander B. Cummings, Jr as a graduate of the school. Cummings works at one of the largest companies in the world (Coca-Cola), and there is no doubt that without sufficient leadership skills he would not have been able to reach the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Cummings states that the institution reinforced his consciousness to ethics and pursuit of excellence (Clark Atlanta University n.p.). Similarly, Kevin Y. Brown who acts as entrepreneur and clothing designer affirms that life in the school propelled him to greatness.
All said I believe that pursuing a Radio, Television, and Digital Communications major in the institution will provide a rare opportunity for me to establish myself as a future leader. The values and beliefs of the school seek to nurture students into expressing their leadership skills. I believe that my background as a media enthusiast and my desire to make a change in the society will create a great leader in the future.
