Technological know-how brought with it numerous inventions in the various systems at work in the sectors of the economy. One of the basic systems of great significance in life is in the field of communication. Since inventing the telephone in 1875 as the first technological discovery in the communication sector, the world opened up for further innovations. The subsequent years saw even better inventions facilitating the communication process. As a result, several positive outcomes are evident in the process of sharing information. However, it is important to note that various challenges arising from these inventions have also presented themselves. Firstly, issues like lack of improvement of communication skills and difficulties in being listeners are a daily reality in sharing information. Furthermore, life experiences get outlined in situations of less effective communication as well as the appropriate words of advice for people experiencing obstacles while sending or receiving information. Therefore, it is important to note the above issues to come up with the necessary recommendations.

Technological advancements are the result of the many discoveries witnessed globally in the communication sector today. According to Solway (2010), there is a variety of invented mobile phone brands and public speaking equipment currently ruling the communication system.

Wait! How technology has impacted your own communication skills as a sender and receiver paper is just an example!

However, these innovations are greatly contributing to the challenges experienced in improving communication and public speaking skills. Personally, my interpersonal communication skills have deteriorated. I often use my cell phone as the major means of communicating with other people. As a result, I love chats that involve texting rather than making phone calls. Furthermore, I lack tolerance for face to face conversations as I find them very tedious and boring. As a public speaker, I put value only on giving content that will please many online users rather than genuine talk that can impact lives.
Solway (2010) suggests that technology has made it difficult to listen effectively because of the high demand for paying attention to numerous information at the same time. Currently, social network sites expose individual receivers of information to thousands of senders. As a result, it is difficult to listen to, and digest sent content that is of great significance. A scenario once happened to me when people brushed off an important experience I shared online. The story touched on the challenges I faced in my studies as a student. There was less focus on the content I posted since the story quickly became irrelevant.
Technology has brought several obstacles to communication. Managing these hitches means that necessary measures get embraced. For instance, the use of mobile phones requires that communicators are keen to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding (Solway, 2010). This fact is achievable by making phone calls and addressing issues in proper dialects that the receiver easily comprehends.
