Question 1: What is your initial level of education in nursing?
The hypothetical data report on the initial education level in nursing views education from four viewpoints that include high school, associate’s degree, baccalaureate degree, and graduate degree levels. The underlying assumption is that an individual’s initial education level in the profession is either high school, associate’s degree, baccalaureate degree or the graduate degree.
As per the results from the hypothetical data, 54.7% of the population indicated that their initial level of education in nursing is high school, 23.1% indicated their level of education as the associate’s degree, 21.9% indicated that their initial level of education was the baccalaureate degree while 0.1% of the population indicated that their highest level of education was the graduate degree. The data indicates that a majority of the population have high school as their initial level of the education in nursing with the minimum percentage indicating the graduate degree.
It is important to note that the educational experience is considered as among the factors that result in diversity in the nursing profession. The notion is that the profession is among the few fields with diverse educational paths (Mareno & Hart, 2014). It is expected for the nursing education to provide the medical environment with registered nurses who are adequately prepared for various roles and responsibilities.

Examples of the responsibilities include; assisting in the safeguarding of health in various community settings, practicing patient-centered care, providing specialists’ services, taking part in nursing research, and participating in educational leadership (Mareno & Hart, 2014). It is expected for the registered nurses to take part in BSN programs with the view that the profession is becoming more complex as result of changes taking place in the medical field regarding organizational structure and technological advancements (Spetz & Bates, 2013). Spetz and Bates (2013) explain that there is the need to support or encourage nurses to pursue the baccalaureate education as it benefits both the nurses and the patients.
