Economic Impact of the Immigrants to American Society
The migrants entering the United States with a low level of education and lack of proficiency in language skills run the risk of exploitation regarding jobs available to them, the salaries they receive and the benefits, which also have many effects on the labor market. The entry of immigrant workers in unregulated labor market increases the incidences of wage inequality mostly prevalent in the lower half of the distribution of Native Americans. Studies have indicated that the migrant workers have lower expectations about the wages on offer and other conditions of employment. They are also not aware of their right to move jobs or to seek employment opportunities in any sector of the US economy (Hagan et al. 151).
Their entry, therefore, increases the ease of availability of the cheap labor from the migrant workers, has lower expectations about the wages on offer and other conditions of employment. These conditions damage the economically disadvantaged students who rely on the employment opportunities to pay their school fees and cater for other basic needs.
Evidence also suggests that the migrants tend to have a negative influence on the children that belong to the minority Native Americans (Hagan et al. 157). They have attributed to the reduction of achievement of education among the children of the minority natives. Further, the difficulties in teaching the immigrant children make the teachers slow down the learning process, which lowers the quality of the native education.

The downgrade is due to the low proficiency among the migrant students.
In conclusion, the migrant workers can escape exploitation through the formation of economic niches or even connect with each other using the social networks to acquire non-formal skills as well as develop their knowledge of their rights as workers. The federal government also needs to make reforms that improve the delivery of the educational services to the immigrant students to avoid the adverse effects.
