Introduction

The topic to be treated is of great importance for each person because the knowledge of that can serve to prevent accidents or know how to act in a risk situation. Before within the educational institutions they were not suitable in ordering knowledge about risk management. Ecuador has had a series of disaster events that has led the country to be constant about learning prevention and action measures before an emergency. In September 2010, the Ministry of Education created a public policy designed in the risks presented by educational units.

Teachers have to make sure they are well informed about natural disaster prevention measures because the responsibility we have is great, we have our care, children. That is why the importance of knowing about risk management goes beyond acquiring that knowledge if we should not transmit it to our students and they share it with their relatives too. The objective of this work to clearly provide the risk management roots and its importance. Next, we will talk about the beginnings of risk management in Ecuador which began in 1960 with the creation of civil defense.

This was created through the National Security Law whose objective was to be quickly and efficient Natural which was focused on the emergency response. Knowledge about risk management and more in the educational field is important, since we have to be clear about the measures that must be implemented when facing an emergency. It should be emphasized that thanks to the improvements it has had over the years there is now much more knowledge both inside and outside the educational community.
