Campaign on Cigarette smoking
The selected community-based population targeted is a group of young individuals between the age of 16 to 30 that indulge in smoking. Such a program would involve the education of these individuals on the effects of tobacco use on the body. The use of technology improves the effectiveness of such a campaign. Cigarette smoking is of one of the most common forms of recreational substances used by individuals. The CDC (2017) states that smoking causes more deaths than other recreation drugs combined. The effects are observed in the respiratory system, the cardiovascular system, the reproductive system, and in different types of cancer such as lung cancer (CDC, 2017). A campaign on discouraging cigarette smoking would help improve the health of those who indulge in the act.
Use of Technology in the campaign
The campaign would involve gathering a specific number of people and educate them on the effects of cigarette smoking, the benefits of ending the habit, steps on how to overcome addiction. The use of a PowerPoint will allow the targeted population to better understand the effects of tobacco smoking. The PowerPoint can include a brief discussion on the effects of smoking on the body. Here high-resolution pictures can be used to show photos and videos of previous patients affected by smoking. It will be then followed by a comparison of the health benefits of abandoning the habit.

Lastly, the presentation may discuss the steps in halting addiction and include the contacts of centers that may help. The campaign can take place on a weekly basis in the different areas until the entire targeted region is covered.
Discussion
The use of videos and high-resolution pictures aid the targeted individuals in understanding some complex concepts (Boss & Krauss, 2014). The campaign would be supplemented by the use of social media website in encouraging individuals to attend the sessions (Wang, 2014). Technology makes learning interactions better hence improving the retention of information by those participating in the campaign.
