In the field of technology, a network refers to a series of points that are connected by communication paths. A network ensures that information can be transferred from one location to another effectively and securely. Whole Foods market, has several branches that are located all over the country. Therefore, an appropriate network is vital to ensure that information can be distributed among the branches and also among the clients who order their products through the online platform. This paper discusses the fundamental characteristics and components of the company’s network. The company’s network has several vital features that ensure the smooth running of the services offered. The network features include resilience, high scalability, agility, and security. Security is one of the crucial components that guarantees that the clients and company’s information is safe from hackers. Whole Foods market network has several important components that include, servers, clients, transmission media, shared data and the network interface card. Other vital components comprise of the local operating system, switches, and hubs.
Network Characteristics and Components
Whole Foods market, is an American supermarket that completely deals with natural foods without artificial preservatives, colors or flavors. The supermarket is a certified organic grocer thus it guarantees the organic integrity of the products from the time they arrive at the stores until they are sold.

The company purchases its products from different local and global producers. The majority of buying happens at the local and domestic levels to discuss the capacity discounts with various sellers.
Whole Foods market has several stores located all over the country. The stores are connected by network cables that ensure important information is shared between the stores. Also, the company operates an online selling platform that is linked into the company systems by networking cables. The company’s network has several vital characteristics that ensure all the systems work appropriately. First, the network is resilient. Whole Foods market network, is fault-tolerant and therefore customers and staffs can use it without problems. Online buyers can make orders without the online system having troubles. Secondly, the company’s network is agile. Agility ensures that the network is simple and has automation that offers a dynamic and receptive infrastructure CITATION Ric15 l 2057 (Napolitano, 2015). The company’s network system is not complex, and therefore the users can use it appropriately. In addition, the company’s network has high scalability. This means that more users can be added to the network, and it would not affect the workability of the systems. This important characteristic of the network is evident on the online platform, where various customers can order products at the same time whereas the system remains stable. Lastly, the company’s network is secure. The company’s and customer’s information is always secure and therefore hackers cannot be able to attain it.
