Ingredients of Happiness

The first ingredient of happiness is the peace of mind. This is the greatest human good. People strive for the peace of mind throughout their lives. The peace of mind is required in all circumstances for a happy life and optimal performance of every human association, including the organizations (Chaffee, 2015, p. 287). The second ingredient is energy and health. These relate to the normal and natural physical condition of a person, the same way the peace of mind connects to the normal and natural mental situation of an individual. Furthermore, loving relationship is an ingredient of happiness. This includes an association with persons one loves and cares about and those who love and care about him or her, as well. The relationships are real indications of how one is doing as a human creature. Also, the financial freedom is an ingredient of happiness. Having enough funds is among the most significant duties and goals of one’s life (Chaffee, 2015, p. 288). It is necessary for one’s self-advancement and to the attainment of any other valuable objective. The personal fulfillment is another ingredient of happiness. This refers to a feeling that one is becoming everything he or she wishes to achieve. It is the achievement of one’s full capacity as a human being.
Achieving Genuine Happiness
Being grateful is a way of achieving genuine happiness. One needs to be appreciative for everything. He or she needs to show gratitude in his or her life every day. Also, one should see every time as a gift and enjoy that moment fully (Chaffee, 2015, p.

289). Every moment of one’s life should be perceived as a unique gift. Happiness can be achieved via enjoying every moment as if there is no any other time given. People also achieve happiness by serving others (Chaffee, 2015, p. 289). This includes a variety of good and moral actions that involve assisting another person. The support to others should not be conditional but should be free so as to realize a genuine happiness one needs. Further, one can create a genuine happiness by opting to love others. One should learn to live with other in love. The love should encompass the family, friends, and everyone a person meets. Meeting a strange person should be all about compassion and loving towards them. Accepting the way people are is a way of understanding them, which builds a close link with others (Martin, 2012, p. 44).
Moral Value Ideas
In the Thinking Activity, some moral values that promote human happiness can be identified. Indeed, one should show support for others to encourage human happiness. Helping others in their daily lives by supporting them in the pursuit of the necessaries of life is a moral value that promotes such happiness (Chaffee, 2015, p. 290). For example, providing shelter, food, and clothing to the refugees in a camp, as a volunteer, is a moral action that is directed towards promoting happiness for other people. Also, assisting people living in troubles, such as extreme poverty, further promotes human happiness. In sum, the moral values that aim at improving the lives of other people and helping them achieve what they desire, all promote human happiness (Martin, 2012, p. 45).
Ultimately, in my view, the other moral values that show promote my happiness are those that have the elements, such as respect, virtue, honor, fairness, honesty, and love. These aspects are directly interconnected to the encouragement of happiness as they encourage support, love, and, empathy.
