Dear Sir/ Madam,
RE: REQUEST FOR REDUCTION OF CHARGE
I am a young lady aged twenty-five years, and I have been living in the State of Florida my entire life. I have had a challenging past, and my childhood was hectic. I lost my parents when I was only five years old, and I ended up in an orphanage, but I was adopted severally. I spent my entire childhood hopping from one foster home to another, and it was very traumatizing. However, I survived through the odds, and when I became an adult, I moved out and rented my apartment. I worked both day and night shifts to get money to pay college fees. I graduated and got myself a job which has been settling all my bills. When I became financially stable, I adopted two foster kids, and I have been raising them as my children.
Early this year, I was arrested and charged with DUI, and after pleading guilty I was fined, received a sentence, and went on probation which I have already completed. However, that one instance of driving under the influence cost me my job for which I have worked so hard. I also lost custody of my two adopted kids. I feel helpless and depressed. If you would reduce my sentencing to reckless driving, then I might have the chance to see my beautiful children again. In my defense, I have never had any previous case of DUI whatsoever, but I have been previously arrested with a minor wrong-doing of marijuana possession.
Wait! judge paper is just an example!
I will pay all fines and court costs that will be required for you to drop my charges. I am currently in a rehabilitation program and have been clean and off drugs for two months now.
Reducing my sentence will bring my life back. Please consider my humble plea. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you.
Yours Faithfully,
Mary Jane.
