Today, knowledge workers are becoming obsolete due to the increasing technology that is able to improve the synthesis and analysis of data and information. As captured in the film, insight workers are taking over knowledge workers through bringing new skills, productivity and competency (Briggs, 2014). While everyone is becoming knowledgeable, it takes insight to create a meaningful solution and uplifting ideas. For example, whereas knowledge workers are capable of manipulating information, insight workers can synthesize the information through critical thinking, judgment and empathy. Also, insight workers understand the process and underlying factor in managing a business.
One can move from knowledge worker to insight worker by adopting talents that aimed at proving solutions and creating ideas into impacts. For instance, whereas knowledge workers create networks, an insight worker should be capable of developing authentic relations that are focused on collaboration.
Learning is a continuous process that we all engage in throughout our life. However, the focus is on the best and effective way of learning new ideas and retrieving already existing concepts in our minds. In the film, Barbara Oakley gives insightful steps to help us learn by balancing our ideas between the focused mode and the diffusion mode (Oakley, 2014). Learning takes process when we focus our mind on something and then diffuse our ideas to help being creative and solving problems.

Being capable of managing ideas between our focus mode and diffusion mode helps us understand new concepts and implement ideas easily during our learning.
Procrastination is an obstacle to learning and can be avoided by implementing our focus mode for a particular time. Balancing between focused attention and relaxing activities helps overcome procrastination. For example, one can engage in enjoyable and educational activities such as playing chess as a way or relax before embarking to focus learning to avoid procrastination.
