Kudu-African Animal
African Kudu regards as one of the most beautiful yet dangerous animals. It is one of the animals with high survival rates in comparison to the gazelle or the Impala that have great speed but end up down easily when other animals hunt them. Kudu has great horns as well as a massive body that have enabled it to survive in the harsh conditions that it faces within the Maasai Steppe. The animal blends perfectly well with nature, and it is able to hide her movements among the African bushes. The scientific name for the animal is Tragelaphus strepsiceros (greater kudu) and Tragelaphus imberbis (lesser kudu) (African Wildlife Foundation 1). The size is approximately 55 inches, and it weighs 565 pounds. It has a lifespan of seven to eight years when it is in the wild and up to 23 years when in captivity.
The animal is able to survive among the many predators found in the wild because of its various adaptive features. One of the adaptive features helps the animal to conceal herself in nature especially its movement. The color of the animal perfectly blends with nature thereby ensuring that it can be able to hide her movements with perfection among the African bushes. Additionally, the animal has great horns and massive body that ensures that it is not easily brought down by predators when being chased in the habitat (African Wildlife Foundation 1). The massive body and the great horns ensure that it is able to keep off attackers.
The stimulus to the behavior in the case of Kudu is the danger that the animal is facing.
