On this earth, we are interdependent in various aspects. The decisions that we make affect us and may affect other people. The effects of the decisions we make may be positive or negative. For people to live well, there has to be a good relationship. This is achieved through an understanding of each other and appreciates diversity in the society (Shove & Walker, 2010). In other words, emotional intelligence helps appreciate people in the society and identify ways of living together in peace. The reason behind this is that it defines personal aspects such as self-awareness and self-management and social aspects such as social awareness and relationship management.
Conflict resolution is also a key factor that determines positive relationship in the future. People should be ready to solve disputes that emerge in life. They should understand the aspects triggering conflicts and use them to create directions for future interactions. Conflicts may be associated with personal issue or issues which affect the society in general (Shove & Walker, 2010). Noise, intense light, the release of unwanted gas and other forms of pollution need to be addressed to prevent problems from occurring in the future.
The parties involved in any action should examine the effects of their actions. For instance, companies and business people should ensure that they do not engage in activities which negatively affect the normal activities.
